As per rural statistics Jharkhand has adequate number of Sub Centres, community health centres and Primary Health Care Centres. However for efficient functioning the availability of manpower is an important facet.
Setting up of Telemedicine Centres in rural and tribal areas is one of the best methods of being able to ensure health care is provided to the people. DHS was approached to carry out a feasibility study to set up Telemedicine enabled Health Care Centres in three districts which have a high rural/tribal population. It would ensure quality health care services are provided in the remote and difficult areas in order to reduce morbidity and mortality
