
Sports helps both the physical as well as the mental development in children. It is also useful in breaking down all barriers and feel good about oneself . Sports helps children to develop physical skills, exercise, make new friends, have fun, learn to be a team member, learn about play fair, improve self-esteem, etc.
Sports helps to build in a child the following :-
• Character and moral principles through fair play
• Brings children together forming bonds of friendship
• Improves social interaction and brings about team work
• Learning from success and failure
• Learn to respect authority, rules, team colleagues and opponents
• Helps in building positive self esteem
DHS used the international sports day to conduct various fun games with school children to target both their health as well as wellbeing.
This initiative was applauded by the local authorities as well as parents of children.
